Hello everybody,

My name is Roby Biwer and I will have the pleasure to chair the local organising committee in charge of planning and preparing the 2022 TeamGym Europeans in Luxembourg.

I have been a gymnast myself and later the president of the Bettembourg gymnastics club until I unfortunately had to resign due to the nomination as mayor of Bettembourg.

But I have always continued being closely linked with gymnastics and I was proud, when the Federation asked me to lead the preparation and organisation of the TeamGym Europeans in Luxembourg in 2022.

Our motto is “feel our passion” and I am convinced, that we – as a great and enthusiastic team – will do a fantastic job making this event an unforgettable experience for us as organisers, but also for the gymnasts and all our guests.

Thank you very much for being part of it.

The European Championships in TeamGym is one of the youngest European Gymnastics events and takes place every two years. The first European Gymnastics TeamGym – then called Euroteam- competition was held in Finland in 1996 and the first official TeamGym European Championships in Sweden in 2010, which also included junior teams.

TeamGym is a team competition being performed in three disciplines: Floor, Tumble and Trampet. All three disciplines require effective teamwork and excellent technique with difficult skills in acrobatic and gymnastic elements. TeamGym competitions are divided into three sections: Women, Men and Mixed teams. The event is attractive for spectators and media as well as sponsors because it’s both entertaining and exciting to watch. TeamGym competitions are recognized by their very good spirit and an exciting atmosphere.

We would be delighted to welcome you in Luxembourg at occasion of the 14th TeamGym European Championship
